What We Believe

What We Believe

God: We believe in the one true and living God, I AM, who is eternal and infinite, yet has manifested and revealed Himself to us as Jehovah in creation, Jesus in redemption and Holy Spirit as power and revelation within us in this present age. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Exodus 3:14; John 8:58, 1 Timothy 3:16)

Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, is one with God and was made flesh, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus was completely human and completely God and that He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of Jehovah functioning as our High Priest and Intercessor. We believe that the only way to heaven is by accepting Jesus Christ as savior and Lord. (Romans 8:34; John 1:1, 14; 1; John 14:6; Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 10:12)

The Holy Spirit: We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit as a regenerator of the human spirit after initial conversion and one who anoints, seals and preserves us. We believe that the Holy Spirit is also one who comforts us, convicts us, sanctifies us, as well as leads and guides us, empowering us to live Godly lives. (Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:1; Titus 3:5-6)

Baptism In The Holy Spirit: We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as evidenced by speaking in other tongues as a separate experience from the initial regeneration of the Holy Spirit at conversion and is an endowment of power and supernatural ability. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as well as the operation of the five fold ministry grace gifts of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. (Acts 19:2; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10; Ephesians 4:11-12)

Sanctification: We believe that those who are called Believers should depart from iniquity, evil works and a lifestyle of sin. We believe that the Holy Spirit works in us initially to seal and regenerate us (Ephesians 1:13) and then progressively to continually produce the character of Jesus Christ as we mature in our faith. We believe in freedom from the power of sin and living a lifestyle that reflects the Scriptures. (Romans 6:1; 2 Timothy 2:19; 2 Corinthians 7:1)

The Scriptures: We believe the scripture, (The Bible), both the Old and New Testament are verbally and plenary the inspired Word of God, without error in its original documents. We also affirm the scripture to be the complete revelation of God’s will for the Salvation of mankind, the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and Life. The Scripture is the ultimate expression of God’s revelation. (I Timothy 3:16 - 17; II Peter 1: 20-21)

The Way of Salvation: We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and not by one’s own works or merit. Salvation is received completely by grace. We believe salvation is a gift from God and the Son of God, and is received solely by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who accomplished complete redemption by His substitutionary death and shedding of His precious blood. To be saved, one must repent of their sins and confess that Jesus is Lord. (St. John 3:18; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16; I John 1:9; Romans 6:18; Romans 10:9).

Water Baptism: We believe in baptism in the name of Jesus Christ as an outward testimony of one’s salvation experience. Baptism is a Scriptural command. We believe in water baptism by immersion symbolizing death to sin and resurrection to a new life in Christ. (Romans 6:3-6; Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:27)

Communion: We believe that the Lord's Supper is a sacred memorial service which is symbolic of the the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. All born again believers who have an understanding of the meaning and significance of this sacrament should participate in it. (John 6:54; 1 Corinthians 11:25)

Satan: We believe that Satan was originally created perfect, as all things that a perfect God would create. He was a perfect being until sin entered him and he rebelled against God. As a result, he and the host of angelic beings that fell with him became depraved and enemies of all righteousness and the plan of God. They have been judged and defeated at the death and resurrection of Christ, and are ultimately doomed. Satan will face his punishment at the final rebellion described in Revelation. (Genesis 3:1-19; Ephesians 6:13-17; I Peter 5:8; Revelations 20:10)

The Last Days: We believe in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ; that Christ will return in the rapture and revelation, rescuing the saints before the tribulation to translate His church from the earth; and between this event and his glorious return with His saints, He will reward believers according to their works. (I Thessalonians 4:16; Titus 2:13; I Corinthians 15:51-53; I Thessalonians 4:5-11; I Corinthians 3:11-15; II Corinthians 5:10)

Creation: We believe the Genesis account as being a historical record of creation, it is accepted literally, not allegorically nor figuratively and it is believed that the universe with all that is in it was created by God apart from pre-existing materials and without evolutionary process (Genesis 1:1-2)

Man: We believe that humankind was created by God, in His image and after his likeness and given authority, dominion and power over the earth. We are spirit, we have a soul (mind, will, emotions, appetites) and we live in a body that was created by God. We believe that man fell through disobedience and willful sin, and inherits a sinful nature at birth because of original sin. The only way man can be forgiven, reconciled and come back into right relationship with God is by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; the finished work of Calvary. We are made righteous and holy through the finished work of Calvary. (Genesis 1:26; Romans 3:23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:12)

Marriage: We believe in marriage between one man and one woman according and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship is sin according to the Scriptures. Marriage ceremonies conducted on House of Healing Christian Assembly premises or by House of Healing Christian Assembly staff shall represent the Biblical establishment of this covenant relationship. (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:21-33; Mathew 19:3-6)

The Church: We believe in the church (‘Ekklesia’) as a God ordained fellowship of Believers here on Earth and that the local church is a representation of God’s invisible Kingdom that has been given power and authority. Further, we believe that all born again Believers are members of the Body of Christ; the universal church known as the Kingdom of God. We believe that church attendance is necessary for Believers for strength, empowerment, training and equipping. The purpose of the church is to win souls by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 5:27; Hebrews 10:25)
